Everything about this minimalistic session is a dream. The white matching jumpsuits are such a unique touch that many couples wouldn’t even consider. I love the way Stephanie Rapp photographed them and told a story. I also love how modern this engagement session feels compared to others. Scroll down to check out the full set!
What was your inspiration behind the shoot and the use of light?
The couple wanted to wear jumpsuits and use the grooms moms green couch. I envisioned that part without any other distractions. I used my moms warehouse to shoot it in.
How did you prepare your clients for this type of session?
They didn’t have any requests other than the jumpsuits and couch so they allowed me creative control. I already knew they were a quirky/fun/down to earth couple so I just mentioned that we would play a lot.
What techniques did you use that were out of the norm?
Their outfit inspo got me inspired because the outfits were white and plain-Jane. Had to tell a story, so we played.
Any advice to other clients or photographers who want to do this type of shoot?
What would speak to you if you were only given one or two things to work with? How you would make it loud and fun when it has the high potential to be boring and plain?
Anything else you’d like to add?
I suggested we do an outfit change to mix it up so we changed and went to a park down the street to add diversity. Highly recommend for engagements, as they’ll use more images this way.
